CHICAGO - A 34-year-old Chicago man has been charged in the shooting on a CTA Pink Line train last month that left one rider dead and another wounded. The shooting happened around 1:22 a.m. Dec. 23, 2025, on a train near Wells and Washington streets in the Loop.

Pedro Villarreal faces murder charges for a fatal shooting on CTA's Pink Line last month in the Loop, where he allegedly shot two men, killing one, during a dispute. He was also charged with trespassing and claims self-defense.

The 120-year-old station is one of the CTA’s most heavily used and serves the Purple, Pink, Brown, Orange and Pink Lines.

CHICAGO - A man was stabbed in the hand during an argument on a train on Sunday morning. The incident happened in the 500 block of N. Milwaukee Avenue in the West Loop, according to the Chicago Police Department.
